E3 2019 – Microsoft E3 2019 Briefing Highlights

E3 2019 has kicked off into full swing. With the Microsoft E3 2019 Briefing being first in line to blow our collective minds. Do they succeed?

Microsoft seems poised to kill it this year with Sony having stepped down for 2019. And they[Microsoft] doesn’t pull any punches with the Microsoft E3 2019 Briefing. There was a tonne of details that was announced, so we’re going to stick to the major highlights of the show.

They kick off the show in top gear by showing off Obsidian’s new game. The Outer Worlds gets a brand new gameplay teaser trailer. You’ll be excited to hear that the game will be available at launch on GamePass. Next up on Stage, Ninja Theory shares a trailer for their upcoming 4v4 third-person action game, Bleeding Edge. Fans will get their hands on the technical Alpha which will be live on 27 June 2019.

Pushing swiftly forward, we’re reintroduced to the gorgeous game Ori and the Will of the Wisps. Microsoft confirms that the game will be available at launch on Xbox GamePass. The game will be launching on February 11, 2020. Furthermore, fans of Minecraft will absolutely love what the studio has been working on. We’ll be getting a Minecraft styled diablo-like RPG. The title is called Minecraft Dungeons and is arriving in Spring 2020.

We already saw at EA Play, Jedi Fallen Order gameplay. Microsoft shows us more of the awesome looking gameplay as well as a confirmed launch date. Fallen Order arrives on 15th November 2019. If you prefer the terrifying, horror gameplay variety, Microsoft has you covered. We’re treated to the announcement of a new horror game, Blair Witch. It arrives this year on the 30th of August 2019.

One of the biggest surprises of the show was CD Project’s Cyberpunk 2077. Not only do we get a brand new Story trailer, but we’re also treated to Keanu Reeves being revealed in the game. He takes to the stage after the trailer and talks to fans about his involvement in the upcoming game. Cyberpunk 2077 will be launching 16 April 2020.

Battle Toads is back with a 2D, 3-player co-op brawler action with its fun cartoon aesthetics. The game will be available at launch on Game Pass. Straight off the heels of BattleToad, we get an ID@Xbox games montage, all of which will be launched on Game Pass day one.

More exciting news for Game Pass subscribers. Metro Exodus, Arkham Knight, Borderlands the handsome collection, will be on Game Pass Today. Microsoft has also launched Xbox Game Pass for PC which is also available Today. For the first time on PC, Halo Master Chief Collection is now on PC including Halo Reach. For the Ultimate Xbox subscription, get your hands on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate which includes Game Pass for Xbox One, Xbox Live, and Game Pass for PC included.

Something that took us all by surprise is the breathtaking Microsoft Flight Simulator that looks absolutely photo realistic. Yep, you guessed it, it will be available on Game Pass at launch. This will be a recurring trend with the show.

Moving on, we check out a new Gears 5 teaser trailer. Best of all we finally get a release date. Mark your Calendar for September 10, 2019. Furthermore, in July, fans will get their hands on the Versus MP tech test. Following the Multiplayer test, in August we’ll get a Horde mode Beta. To finish off the exciting Gears 5 news, we see a trailer for the new mode called Escape which will feature 3-Player Co-op action. If you Pre-Order Gears 5 now you’ll get the exclusive Terminator Character skin.

For the first time in the West, the hugely popular Online action game that will feature cross-play will be arriving on Xbox. We’re talking about the official announcement of Phantasy Star Online 2. The game will be Free-To-Play and will include all content.

Borderlands 3 gets a new trailer and more importantly, the release date for the highly anticipated sequel is set to arrive on the 13th September 2019. With Stadia having been announced, Microsoft is not going to let this show go without dropping some X-cloud details. X-cloud will not only be streaming from Azure datacentres but also from your very own console if you already own an Xbox One. The first public hands-on is at E3 2019 this week.

The moment every Xbox fan has been waiting for. Microsoft officially announces their Next-gen Console currently going by the Codename, Project Scarlet. The console will feature Zen 2 CPU and Navi GPU just like the upcoming PS5 competitor. Memory will be the super fast GDDR6. Expect 8K resolution support and framerates up to 120 FPS. Microsoft also confirms real-time hardware-accelerated Raytracing. The console will come with an SSD. Project Scarlet will arrive Holiday 2020. We can’t wait to get more details of this Monster machine. Xbox vs PS, Game On!

To close off the show, Microsoft treated fans with a Halo Infinite story trailer and confirms the game will launch with Project Scarlet Holiday 2020.
