The sad news of the famed Studio closure continues.  Some of the Telltale Games Library are removed from Steam as the Studio fully shut down. Sigh!

As a huge fan of the work from Telltale Games, it absolutely breaks my heart seeing what the company is going through.  After reports of gross mismanagement, the company was forced to shut down.  Leaving all its employees without jobs and without even a severance pay.  Some of those developers were hired about a week before the layoffs.  What makes this story even worse is that some of the games are being removed from Steam.

The Studio seems to be going through something very similar to a bankruptcy.  Which has the TellTale selling off its assets to pay off all their creditors.  These assets including their game IP’s.  As a result, as the IP’s get sold, the games which no longer owned by them gets removed from Steam.  Games being removed include The Walking Dead, Back to the Future and Tales of Monkey Island.  The rest of their library of games remains intact, for now.

This is truly a heartbreaking turn of events for fans such as myself.  This should serve as a massive warning to other Studio management of what happens when a great studio becomes badly managed.  Sad days indeed.
