Microsoft gives yet another game away. This time, the original Crackdown is available for Free on Xbox Store. Step into my office for all the details.
Crackdown was one of the first cars to be made available for Xbox One backwards compatibility program. It even received Xbox One X enhancements which pushed the graphics to Native 4K. It’s a great sandbox classic that lets you blow S$%* up. But not quite on the same level as Just Cause games. Currently, Crackdown is available for Free on the Xbox Store. And this is fantastic news.
If you’ve never experienced this game before and are wondering if Crackdown 3 will be worth owning when it releases in 2019, then this game could perhaps sway your decision. Just keep in mind the game is really old and not all of its visuals have aged well. The 4K upgrade does make it more palatable, but only if you have the Xbox One X. Heck, even if you don’t have a 4K TV, the game will still get Super Sampling treatment. That means it will internally render at 4K but brute-force the detail onto your 1080p display. Resulting in much sharper, cleaner Full HD presentation.
