Game pass has done wonders for the user on Xbox One, it is a very good principle. Can this service do the same trick for PC users? Here is hoping.

Xbox game pass, in a nutshell, is a subscription service. You pay around $10 per month and get access to about 200 odd titles in the Xbox one library. You get access to triple-A titles like Forza Horizon 4 and sea of thieves to name a few. This also includes games like rocket league and Fallout 4.

This is a very profitable section of Microsoft seeing that Sea of Thieves and Forza Horizon 4 attracted 2 million users each in the first week of the sale. The revenue generated from services like this and software was up 36 percent which is no small feat.

As per Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella “Bringing Game Pass to even the PC is going to be a big element of [increasing the strength of our gaming community]”

It is yet unknown as to what library of games will be available for PC users so we will have to wait. We are hoping that with this in mind when Microsoft is developing new games that they make sure it is compatible on both their platforms. There is competition in the form of monthly services like Utomik. With  Utomik there is already over 800 games available and the price is set at just under $7. This means that game pass for PC from Microsoft needs to hit the right notes.

Play anywhere is something that is also going to step into the light in the near future. This combined with Game pass will surely cement Microsoft footing in the gaming industryTime will tell to see what this means for pc owners as a whole but it is a sound strategy if done correctly. Keep it real and remember “never stop bashing those buttons”
