As the new Streaming platform nears launch, a New Google Stadia Connect Stream reveals even more games coming to the service.

Google Stadia is a bit of a wildcard in the gaming industry. A lot of fans can’t even say exactly who this service is for. This issue is driven home even more with the latest Stadia Connect Stream which shows off even more games heading to the service. Spoiler Alert, they’re already heading to the platform you probably already have in your home as we speak.

A collection of “New” games have been confirmed to be coming to the streaming platform. The big trouble with these announced titles is that they’re already coming to PS4/Xbox and PC. Now in case you missed the whole big deal about Stadia, Google new gaming platform, here’s the short story. Stadia is a streaming service similar to PS Now. Except it’s not a Netflix for games as we thought. You still buy your games like you do on any other platform, you just don’t download to play, you stream them directly from Google’s data centres. Trouble is, unlike dedicated hardware in your house, if your internet connection goes down, so does your access to your library. If Google goes down, the same result.

But I digress, this article is all about the newly announced games. We already know DOOM Eternal is heading to the platform. Now we have Mortal Kombat 11 joining the roster. We already know about Destiny 2, however, new to the list is also Watch Dogs Legion which arrives early 2020 just like on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. A few more highlights to August Stream was the inclusion of Borderlands 3, Cyberpunk 2077 and Destroy All Humans remaster. Throw in the pile, the Grid reboot and Metro Exodus. Check out the list of all games on the platform here.

I think by now you might have picked up the issue I’m having with Stadia. I can get all of the newly announced games on my current consoles and Gaming PC. Which brings me full circle to my original question, who is Stadia really for? There’s no mention of any killer App exclusive to the platform. As such, I don’t feel compelled to buy any of these titles on their platform, when I’m happy to play them on the platforms I already have and trust. I have a sneaky feeling, other games will feel the same too. With all that being said, check out the full Stream below and share your thoughts about Stadia in the comments section below.
