E3 2019 – Bethesda E3 2019 Briefing Highlights
We take a look at what was on offer during the Bethesda E3 2019 Briefing highlights. What are you waiting for? Jump inside!
Bethesda, Bethesda, after the shenanigans of your last release, the terribly received Fallout 76, you have a lot of work on your hands to clear your name of that sh*# stain. And shockingly they may have redeemed themselves with the Bethesda E3 2019 Briefing that was packed with some crowd-pleasing news. Sorry, no Starfield this year, maybe next year. Here are a few of the highlights from the show.
Straight out of the gate, Bethesda admitted to having trouble at launch with Fallout 76. However, they’ve committed to keeping working on it to make it better for the fans. To drive that point home, they’ve announced Fallout 76 Wastelanders Update. Players now get to interact with NPC’s. They’ll have quests, and dialogue trees when the Update arrives fall 2019. The expansion is free for all Fallout 76 players. Furthermore, those who have yet to own the game will get a Free trial from 10 June to 17 June. One last crowd pleaser is the announcement of a new 52-player Battle Royale mode arriving June 10 called Nuclear Winter. All in all, it seems Bethesda hasn’t just given up on the game and are working hard to give players more content at no cost to the fans. Nice one Bethesda, a great way to start your apology tour.
Of cause, no Bethesda show is complete without a mention of Elder Scrolls, but it’s not quite the Elder Scrolls you were hoping for. Elder Scrolls Online gets brand new Dragon quests for the Elseweyr Expansion. Players on the mobile scene will also get an update for Elder Scrolls Blades, which launches tonight. Blades doesn’t stop there as it will be getting a release for Nintendo Switch this Fall. It’s also Free-to-Play for Ninty’s console and includes motion controls, support for cross-play and cross save.
Fans of Tango Works, the creators of The Evil Within games, will be delighted to learn of their new game, Ghostwire Tokyo. It’s touted as an action game that will explore conspiracies in the Occult. We only got to see a story trailer that sees people disappearing from Tokyo, and supernatural enemies begin entering into our world. We’ll be keeping our eye on this one as it seems the premise is quite intriguing.
Just when you thought that was the end of theElder Scrolls announcement, Bethesda drops even more Elseweyr content with an awesome Dragon carnage filled CGI Trailer for the upcoming Dragonhold expansion. With a followup of yet another expansion titled Scalebreaker. Scalebreaker will be getting an August 2019 release. A real blast from the past makes a mobile comeback with the announcement of Commander Keen, a free-to-play mobile game with cartoon action that is launching on iOS and Android this summer.
Rage 2 will also be getting some love with the Rise of the Ghosts Expansion. Players will get a new Mech to cause some carnage with, new vehicles and new game modes. Add to that the obligatory weapons, story, and new enemies are included in this expansion. The FPS love doesn’t stop there from Bethesda. Sure we already know of the upcoming Wolfenstein VR game Cyber Pilot, but that doesn’t stop Bethesda from reminding us of its very close July release date. One more Wolfenstein just to top it off is the upcoming Youngblood which features an epic Nazi killing, Co-op action trailer. It’ll also be gracing the Nintendo Switch when it arrives July 26.
A New IP was announced from the creators of Dishonored with a teaser story trailer. The title is called Deathloop and not much else is known until Bethesda decides to give us more on the game. The concept looks great but will hold off excitement until more is known about the game. We get a quick stage talk about Orion Streaming technologies. This is game engine tech that speeds up streaming with less bandwidth requirements. Orion just so happens to be powering the Native 4K 60FPS tech that is in DOOM for Stadia. And that just so happens to be the perfect Segue to the star of the show, DOOM Eternal.
DOOM Eternal kicks off with a brand new action-packed trailer that shows off all the new movement Doom slayer will be pulling off with the new level design. Best of all we get a release date for the highly anticipated title. DOOM Eternal will be on a platform near you on 22 November 2019. To close off the briefing we’re treated to a brand new MP mode called Battlemode. This is an interesting take on 2 v 1 matches that see Two Demon players taking on the ultra-powerful Doom slayer player. More details to be unveiled at QuakeCon.
