Ok yes, I know it is not really a gaming story but rather a movie adaptation. I fell it love with gear of war when I fired my first bullet, repect Gears of war
Scott Frazier has been tasked by Universal studios to come up with the killer script for the Gears of War movie. For those of you who do not know who he is he worked on Vin Diesel’s XXX return of Xander Cage. Another credit to his name was Collide with Anthony Hopkins. He replaces original writer Shane Salerno, famous for Armageddon ( what a great movie )
Co-Producer Dylan Clark , famous for the latest Planet of The Apes. Rod Fergusson is at the other helm. You know him as the creator of Gears of War and head of Gears focused games at Microsoft. There have not been any cast revelations but there are rumours of Dave Bautista was interested in the role of Marcus Fenix.
With four games in the series and the fifth one coming soon there are lots of content to work with. It will be interesting to see what direction of the story they will focus on. The other ideas running wild my heas is what iconic items and actions will be included. The obvious items from the Coc’s must include the gnasher shotgun, lancer rifle and there should be at least a four to five strong cast. Gears is no stranger to cut scenes and a story lines, let’s hope these transitions to the big screen.
With this in mind I cannot see the movie not being a R rated rating. I am hoping that they do the gaming industry justice and know this out of the park. I for one will definitely keep an eye on all stories relating to this movie. Keep it real and remember “never stop bashing those buttons”.
