The team looks back over the weekend and discuss our Favourites of rAge Expo 2016.  We share our thoughts with you guys  on yet another Team Talk session.  Check it out what we loved.

rAge 2016 has come and gone.  Lots of fun was had.  The team takes a moment and looks back at what we really enjoyed the most over the weekend at South Africa’s biggest gaming expo.  For the first time ever in the history of SkyGamers, the entire team seems to be on the exact same page.  I’m so surprised that we all ended up having the same experience as our favourite of the show.  Check out the results below.

Favourites of rAge Expo 2016: PlayStation VR

Rage has come and gone so let us reflect on what the show offered this year round.  New to this year was the section dedicated to cosplay, artistic works and merchandise.  My highlight of the Rage show was testing Sony’s VR platform to see if the hype matched my expectations … and Hell yes.
It was an out of body experience in the sense of the word, my only gripe is the graphics needed some polishing.  The waiting time to experience the VR is ludicrous with a wait time of 1.5 hours, really!  My attention shifted to the Xbox stand where I focused all my attention on Gears of war 4 and I loved every kerb stop moment, this is sure to be a winner when it comes out tomorrow.  The show concentrated more on the gaming aspect which did not leave a lot of room for other exhibitors that were present in previous years.  There was a lack of stands selling specials on games, pity.

And the winner is…PlayStation VR.  The experience completely blew me away.  Online complaints of nausea and “screen-door-effect” were completely wiped away on my session.  I’ll admit it, the resolution may be slightly worse off than the Oculus or Vive.  But when that game is running, you won’t notice or care.  What takes your breath away the most is the scale you feel when inside the experience.  It’s so very difficult to explain VR to someone, it’s one of those things you have to experience yourself to understand.  When the headset arrives in Sout African shores, you can bet your bottom dollar it will be mine.

Favourites of rAge Expo 2016: PS VR

This year Rage promised to be one of the most exciting with PSVR which was on display and my highlight for Rage2016.  PSVR simply put is the most awesome freaking experience which I will definitely be getting my hands on once released in SA.  One strange thing, or unless I missed something, was the number of stalls selling games as compared to last year.   That was a bit of a bummer cause we weren’t able to buy games at a cheaper price.  Cosplay was even more awesome this year as the costumes were epic, the detail that the guys put into the costumes I take my hat off to all the contestants well done.

That’s a 3 for 3 for the PlayStation VR.  We enjoyed it that much!  Keep it locked to SkyGamers for more of your favourite gaming events.  Happy Gaming!
