Our Gaming Leaderboard, oh how I have missed thee. I know it’s been a while since we’ve done one of these. What better way to revive this feature than with a look back at E3 2018 and what we really loved there. Sure E3 is over, but the content that was shown off to fans there is almost overwhelming. So you can imagine how hard it was for us to go through all the content to decide on a poultry list of 7 games. So without any further ado, here’s SkyGamers’ Top 7 Games of E3 2018.
Remedy surprised everyone with a brand new IP that looks so alluring. It has a very unique aesthetic that reminds me a bit of Quantum Break. You play the Director of the Federal Bureau of Control. A Top-secret government organization that deals with paranormal occurrences. This is one interesting title worth keeping an eye on.
6. Ghost of Tsushima
One of the stand-out titles to come out of Sony’s impressive showing. A Sony exclusive game from Sucker Punch that is just absolutely breathtaking. Feudal Japan has never looked this good on any platform. I’m getting a Japanese Witcher 3 vibe from the game and I love it. Sure there were quite a few Japanese, Samurai-themed games at E3 this year, but this is the one that takes the top spot.
5. Forza Horizon 4
Another year, another Forza game gets released. And yet somehow the team behind these games just keep pushing out some high quality titles. Last year we got Forza Motorsport 7, which means this is the year for Horizon. Forza Horizon 4 takes the open world racing to Britain. With a ton of added features including Seasons that change the look and feel of the tracks. Not to mention the always online experience with all the drivers. This is looking to be yet another landmark Forza title that arrives later this year.
Bioware’s answer to Destiny. Except Bioware promises that this is more than just a Destiny derivative. This is a full fledged RPG that just happens to be in a shared world. The game keeps looking better and better every single time it is shown off. I love the verticality you provided by flying around in those armoured Javelin suits. It’s action packed and provides players with beautiful vistas while taking down enemies. This is the Bioware game we’ve all been waiting for. Mass Effect Andromeda never happened !
3. Cyberpunk 2077
CD Projekt Red ‘s next anticipated title is looking absolutely phenomenal. If you ever wanted to play a Blade Runner game, this is as close as you’ll get. In fact, this title is shaping up to surpass any previous games in the cyberpunk sub genre of games. The studio says they’ve focussed on making the game as dense as possible. Unlike Witcher 3 which was spread out, Cyberpunk 2077 is about packing this word to the brim.
One of my personal most anticipated game of 2018. The Sony exclusive is the definitive Spider-man experience. Insomniac has done a fantastic job at bring everyone’s favourite wall-crawler to video game. This is the Spider-man game we deserve. And we don’t have long to wait to get our hands on the game.
1. The Last of Us Part II
The Number 1 game from E3 2018 can only be The Last of Us Part II. The first game became a monumental benchmark in video gaming history. The sequel seems darker, yet emotional. It pushes the capabilites of PS4 and PS4 Pro and is primed to once again break new ground in video gaming. We can’t wait to set off once more unto the breach with Ellie and Joel. This is our favourite game from E3 2018.
