It has finally happened.  Bioware has confirmed that it will cease all support for the Single Player component of Mass Effect Andromeda.  My face is tired from dealing with this game’s drama.

As a huge fan of the Mass Effect series, it breaks my heart how this once exciting game has turned out.  Worse still is that I haven’t even played this latest installment.  The overly negative media coverage for the game was too much for me to commit to a full price purchase.  I told myself, I’d wait it out for Bioware to fix the issues, then I’ll jump in at a discount price.  Unfortunately, it seems Bioware has had enough of Mass Effect themselves.  They (Bioware) confirmed that they will cease all support for the single-player portion of the game.  Patch 1.10 will be the last patch pushed out for the game.  That means no more improvements to animations or bug fixes.

In other words, what ever other issues remain with the game post 1.10, you will have to learn to live with.  It has also been confirmed that whatever unresolved story arcs in the game will be tied up through other mediums.  Story DLC’s are not happening.  However, support for the Online Co-op will continue.  It’s a shame how this game turned out.  I might even wait for it to be free on PS Plus or Xbox Games with Gold.  I might even consider this entire story arc as a “What if” scenario and only consider the first trilogy as canon.  We can only hope that Bioware gives this property the attention it deserves with the follow-up.
