After this strange omission from Arkane Studios, Prey PS4 Pro support is finally released. Your powerful PS4 Pro console can finally be put to good use in this fantastic Half-Life sequel.
Yes, yes I know Prey isn’t a Half-Life sequel even though it really feels like it should be. Maybe I’m still holding on to the false hope of a Half-Life 3 ever being released. Getting slightly derailed here. Something rather awkward happened with the launch of Prey on PS4. You see, if you look at the back of the box, you’ll see that the game is supposedly PS4 Pro compatible. Even though in reality there’s absolutely no Pro upgrades whatsoever. Until now. Prey PS4 Pro support has finally made it to the console via Update 1.04. Arkane Studios has finally added some graphical improvements to the game as well as further improving the PS4-only input lag bug. Here’s the full Patch Note below.

A strange omission here is that there doesn’t appear to be any mention of higher resolution. Perhaps the game is remaining with the standard PS4 resolution of 1080p. Worse yet is that there doesn’t appear to be a mention about a possible 60 FPS mode. Could Prey really be so demanding that it can’t run on a PS4 Pro at 1080p60? A wishlist of mine for a future update is adding perhaps 3 graphical modes. 1 would be a 4K mode with standard PS4 graphic features but a bump in resolution to some flavour of 4K (Most likely 1440p if we’re being realistic). 2 would be
1 – 4K mode with standard PS4 graphic features but a bump in resolution to some flavour of 4K (Most likely 1440p if we’re being realistic).
2 – Quality Mode with 1080p resolution and bumped up graphic quality setting.
3 – Performance mode with 1080p, Standard PS4 graphical quality setting and 60 FPS gameplay.
Come on Arkane Studios, make it happen already. We’re patient, we’ll wait.
